Intermediate Certificate in Wines and Spirits

 

Specification Summary

 

The WSET Level Intermediate Certificate is intended as vocational training for those employed in the drinks industry. It is also suitable for those not employed in the drinks industry but who have a serious interest in wine, and wish to broaden their knowledge in a structured way.

 

All sessions of this course include wine tasting using the Level 2 systematic approach, therefore students must be 18 years old or over.

 

The Intermediate course is a modular course, covering wines and spirits of the world. Successful students will be able to advise customers and staff on selection, storage and service of wines. They will also demonstrate a sound knowledge of the main grape varieties, wine styles and wine making areas around the world.

 

The examination consists of a 1 hour paper containing 50 multiple choice questions.
