Advanced Certificate in Wines and Spirits

 

Specification Summary

 

The WSET Level 3 Advanced Certificate is intended to provide in depth knowledge of a wide range of wines and spirits and is open to all students who hold the WSET Level 2 qualification. Students who have not completed Level 2 must satisfy their tutor that the have at least the same level of knowledge either through industry experience or having completed equivalent courses within the wines and spirits industry.

 

This course is also suitable for wine enthusiasts both within and outside the wine trade who wish to build on the knowledge gained at Level 2.

 

All sessions of this course include tasting using the Level 3 systematic approach.

 

The Advanced course is a modular course, covering wines and spirits of the world in considerable depth, and students are required to demonstrate competency in both theory and tasting. The examination consists of a tasting paper, where students will blind taste one wine, and complete a detailed tasting note. Plus a written paper, where students will answer 4 short written questions, and 50 multiple choice questions.
